A saturday ride to the eastern plains of Colorado to the Tower tourist trap. A strange old building with many rooms crammed with artifacts of all kinds. BTW, if you go, be aware there are no facilities at this Disneyland of the grassland. No toilets you would let your ex use, no water, no pop machine, no gas in town, no nuttin. The ride was cooler and wetter than expected, giving a good adventure flavor to the day. Kidding aside, thanks Carl for a good time.

coloradobeemers > This was a familiar scene today, putting on rain gear, as 15 restless riders headed to Genoa, CO (12 miles east of Limon...thats all the help you get). Five or six others were smart and turned back before Kiowa. Clue one: check out flag in this photo. It was a balmy 50 degrees when we left Morrison, but by Kiowa, it was down to 37, and spitting intermittant rain showers with sleet here and there. With visions of being stuck in Limon with half a dozen other riders in a seedy motel room while an unforecast raging spring blizzard blows by, I told myself if it goes down to 36, I'm boogying back to Denver. It didn't, and we sailed on!

coloradobeemers > Did you know that Ride leader Carl never stops...when he does its on the interstate? We all had lots of coffee with breakfast. Carl took us to this landmark, where the owner said, "sure, we got restrooms, around to the left, out back!" We turned the corner, Kim lost his hat and is futilly grabbing for it, while Mark is trying to stop his last thermal unit from escaping his jacket on the way to these beauties!
